Naturally I like great design, gin, and food (in that order). I’m a Designer from Manchester and a final year Graphic Design student at The University of Salford. Over the last few years I’ve had the pleasure of working on a range of exciting client briefs in addition to working in-house at one of Europe’s largest ad agencies, Social Chain.
As such, I have experience working with clients of all sizes, ranging from local businesses to multi-nationals and design agencies. My ideal brief? Anything that involves getting my hands dirty (I’m not a so-called ‘clean desk designer’).
If you like making books and drinking tea, let’s be friends.
Books are a passion of mine. There’s something about the physicality of holding a well-crafted book that really appeals to me. My approach to editorial design is considered, thorough, and has a contextual basis. I truly believe that ‘Perfection is attained, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away’ — Antoine de Saint Exupéry.
I despise the term ‘control freak’ but relish at the opportunity of having creative freedom in a project. Working alongside other artists and creatives is one of life’s true pleasures, like when you dunk a biscuit for the perfect amount of time. Art Directing is something I thoroughly enjoy and there is a specific thrill in seeing elements of a project come together harmoniously.
Creating an identity for a business is an excuse to produce something truly beautiful. A brand is much more than simply a logo; it’s an opportunity to craft a persona out of rich contextual information. It’s about creating a unified system that touches all areas of a business, from the tone of voice in copy to the visual language and various design elements.
